Swatches and photos: ColourPop x Karrueche Tran KaePop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

You know I already love ColourPop's Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks, and when I saw the previews for Karrueche Tran's collaboration collection, I definitely jumped at these. It's definitely an on-trend collection, and I was happy to jump on board the bandwagon. There are some eyeshadows and face products in this collection too, and they are gorgeous, but the lipsticks were what I really wanted.

There are three, and I loved how the tubes had a rose gold band/lettering rather than the usual silver. I've never seen them do that for other collaborations before, and it's really pretty.

Kae, Rooch, Chi
Kae is described as a "deep warm yellow brown." I found that it applied quite a bit darker than how it looks in the tube. Matte brown is super trendy right now, and YES, I am in.

(Note: I took these pictures of myself on different days, at different times of the day. But hopefully you get the idea.)

Rooch is described as "a deepened russet wine" and is my favorite of the three. I never could resist a deep red.

Chi is "a cool tone nude beige," and I'm always iffy about these lighter nude shades, so I'm not too sure about this one. It's very pretty, but I don't think it works on me. Especially since the lighter color really emphasizes the lines in my lips. I might try topping it with a gloss.

The quality is pretty consistent with ColourPop's other liquid lipsticks - yeah, they can be drying, and if your lips aren't in tip-top condition (and I do admit that mine have not been), you'll probably have to take some extra steps to make these work, like letting them soak in some lip balm or moisturizing lip primer. I did have some problems with Kae crumbling a bit at the end of the day, but it was barely noticeable, and a few dabs of tissue took care of that. (Like I said, my lips have not been in tip-top shape lately.)

So yeah, if you want to dabble in the latest lipcolor trends, and you don't want to spend a lot of money doing so, I highly recommend grabbing these KaePop colors before they're gone.
